Wall paintings are a traditional part of Sirigu culture that have been passed down for many generations. These eye-catching and highly stylised paintings decorate the houses of those living in Sirigu as well as the walls of SWOPA itself, and feature many motifs and colours which represent local stories and themes. For example, the typical colours of these paintings, the red, white and black, all represent features of life such as death, birth, wealth and prosperity. Each picture tells a story and our tour guides will be happy to explain the meaning and ideas behind each one!
